The Richard Montoya Organization, operating as Be the Blessing, is a local nonprofit dedicated to putting love into action—it’s the foundation of who we are. For over 16 years, we have united with our community to address a wide range of needs in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and surrounding areas. When our community comes together, we create hope, strength, and brighter outlooks for everyone involved. Our work touches the lives of a diverse population, including individuals with a wide range of disabilities and special needs, our elderly neighbors, veterans, local students, foster children, pediatric patients, and many others.

BeYOUtiful Ball
Where joy meets inclusion!
The BeYOUtiful Ball was launched in 2015 as the first-ever prom event in Northern New Mexico specifically designed for individuals with physical disabilities and cognitive delays. Our event is fully inclusive and tailored to meet the unique needs of all our special guests. This event is made possible entirely through generous donations, in-kind contributions, and the dedication of community volunteers. Our organization provides everything from formal attire, including accessories and shoes, to spa and barber treatments like hair, nails, and makeup for our attendees. We also offer a full dinner, dancing, and unforgettable memories. Best of all, this event is offered at no cost to our guests and their caregivers!
Senior Care Baskets
Ensuring comfort and care for our Seniors!
This yearly initiative reflects our commitment to honoring and caring for those who have given so much throughout their lives. Our annual Senior Care Basket drive is dedicated to collecting essential care items for senior citizens in nursing homes. The mission of this drive is to ensure that our seniors have access to the basic hygiene and care products they need to live with dignity. Through the generosity of our supporters and the efforts of our volunteers, we are able to provide these much-needed items, bringing comfort and respect to the elderly members of our community.

Darlene McKnight "Fostering Fun" Toy Drive!
Brighten a foster child’s holiday!
Christmas 2025 was our second annual Darlene McKnight “Fostering Fun” Toy Drive! Created in memory of Darlene, a beloved foster mother who devoted her life to giving children love, stability, and comfort, this event continues her legacy of compassion. In 2025, we were honored to focus on supporting children who are being lovingly raised by their grandparents. These families give so much, and together we helped bring joy, hope, and holiday magic into their homes. We are beyond grateful for the incredible generosity that made the last two years of this initiative such a success, and we look forward to coming together once again to make this Christmas brighter for every child!
Warmth Drives
A testament to the power of community support!
We step up to address the urgent needs of our community by having a yearly coat drive and our blanket drive for veterans! With so many facing unexpected hardships, we recognized the critical importance of ensuring that everyone has access to warmth. Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we are able to collect and distribute coats and blankets to those in need, providing comfort and warmth during especially challenging times.
